We are delighted to announce that Graeme McInally has been appointed to the Mearns & Company Board of Directors.
Since joining the firm in 2012 Graeme has made an enormous contribution to the success of the business and has worked tirelessly for the benefit of our clients, while also supporting and developing the wider team.
Graeme has demonstrated great ambition and determination in his career development, to his qualification status of Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Graeme took over the management of our financial planning advisory team in 2019 and, after working through a series of leadership development objectives, was promoted to Associate Director of Financial Planning at the end of 2020.
The Mearns & Company Board is delighted to welcome Graeme to the leadership team, as he brings a wealth of experience and skills with him. Graeme’s passion for client service and technical excellence demonstrates that he is fully behind the Mearns & Company values of Treating People Fairly, Striving for Excellence and Making a Difference.
On his appointment to the Board, Graeme said, “The Board of Directors has done an excellent job of growing the business sustainably so that we can continue to deliver our high standard of service and advice to clients. I’m looking forward to adding value in this respect and helping us meet our strategic objectives. As a leadership team, we share the same core values but can be quite different with our views and approach, which is important to be an effective team. We are fortunate to work with lovely clients and ensuring that our advice process continues to protect and support our clients is a priority for me.”

Alongside Graeme and Catherine on the Board are Founder and Chair Margaret Mearns, Client Strategy Director Malcolm Steel and Client Services Director Graeme Brown. Mearns & Company was founded in 1994 and has grown sustainably to the current headcount of 25. Mearns & Company advises both individuals and employers, has been awarded the Gold Standard for Independent Financial Advice 10 times, and is proud to hold Platinum Investors in People accreditation.
